Studio Wolfe Dance Teams

Invitation Only · National & International Competitors

The Studio Wolfe Dance Teams represent the highest level of training and performance within our school. These teams bring together some of our most dedicated dancers to train, perform and compete at national and international level.

Dance Team membership is by invitation only and offered to students who consistently demonstrate strong technique, commitment and a positive attitude in their regular classes. Being the strongest dancer is not the only factor — we look for students who work hard, support their teammates and represent the values of Studio Wolfe both in the studio and on stage.

Team Structure

Each year we create several teams based on the dancers in the studio and the routines we plan to choreograph for the coming season. Teams are designed to play to the strengths of each dancer while creating exciting and competitive performances.

Our current team structure includes:

  • Junior Dance Team (ages 11–13)
  • Teen Dance Team (ages 13–15)
  • Senior Advanced Dance Team (ages 15–18)

All Dance Team members must take a minimum of two weekly dance classes in addition to their team training. We strongly recommend students combine Modern Jazz with Ballet, Acro or Hip Hop to develop well-rounded technical ability.

National & International Competition

Studio Wolfe Dance Teams compete 3–4 times each year, performing at both national and international dance competitions.

Our dancers have proudly represented Studio Wolfe — and Ireland — on major stages including:

  • Representing Ireland at the Dance World Cup in Spain (2018)
  • Representing Ireland at the Dance World Cup in Portugal (2023)
  • Performing at Disneyland Paris (2019)
  • Competing in Essex, United Kingdom (2020)
  • Winning titles and awards at competitions across Ireland and Europe

These experiences allow dancers to perform at a high level, build resilience and create lifelong memories with their teammates.

Elite Training Environment

Dance Team dancers receive additional weekly training focused on:

  • Advanced choreography
  • Performance quality and stage presence
  • Strength, flexibility and precision
  • Teamwork and ensemble performance

Our goal is to develop dancers who are not only technically strong but also confident performers capable of delivering high-energy, professional-level routines.

Being part of the Studio Wolfe Dance Team meant so much to my daughter during her secondary school years. It was her escape after busy school days and where she built an amazing group of friends. She's now in university and still dancing with the dance society, and many of the girls from the team are still her closest friends. If your child gets the chance to join the Studio Wolfe Dance Team, I would highly recommend taking the opportunity and enjoying every minute.

Dance Teams — your questions

Who are the Studio Wolfe Dance Teams for?

Studio Wolfe's Dance Teams are our competitive performance groups for dancers aged 10–18. Teams train together weekly and compete nationally and internationally, including at events like the Dance World Cup representing Ireland.

How does a dancer join a Studio Wolfe Dance Team?

Dance Team membership is by invitation only. Dancers are invited based on factors including work ethic, attitude, teamwork, skill development and commitment shown in their regular weekly classes. If you'd like to express interest, speak to your teacher or use our enquiry form.

What does weekly commitment look like?

Team members must attend a minimum of two weekly dance classes — for example Intermediate Dance, Senior Dance, Intermediate & Senior Ballet or Acro — alongside team training. This ensures rehearsal time is spent refining competition material rather than basics. Teams train weekly during term.

What should team members wear?

Team members wear their regular Studio Wolfe dance uniform to training. We also have a dedicated Dance Team jacket for events and a competition uniform for performances — full details are shared on joining the team.

Where does Dance Teams training happen?

Teams train at our Studio Wolfe Douglas studios — our home base. Competitions take place at venues across Ireland and internationally.

How do I express interest in joining a Studio Wolfe Dance Team?

Membership is invitation-only, but if you're a current Studio Wolfe dancer, have a chat with your teacher. If you're new to Studio Wolfe, start by enrolling in a regular weekly dance class through the booking timetable — the Dance Teams draw from our dance students, and members are often chosen based on specific skills that suit a routine the teachers are choreographing. For any other questions, use our enquiry form.
