Senior Dance Classes — Studio Wolfe Cork
About This Class
Professional Senior Dance Classes in Cork (Ages 13+)
Studio Wolfe offers Senior Dance classes in Cork for teenagers aged 13+ who want to refine their technique, build confidence, and perform with flair. These fast-paced, high-energy classes focus on Contemporary Modern Jazz, combining dynamic choreography with technical training in leaps, turns, flexibility, and musicality.
Many senior students also take additional classes such as Ballet, Hip Hop or Acro to expand their training and develop versatility. Classes are structured by age and ability, ensuring every dancer progresses at the right pace while enjoying a fun, supportive environment led by experienced professional performers.
Senior dancers have regular performance opportunities, including the Dance Extravaganza at MTU Arena and shows at the Cork Opera House, giving them valuable stage experience and confidence in front of an audience. Students can also choose to take IDTA Contemporary Modern Jazz examinations, progressing through vocational levels up to Advanced 2 — internationally recognised qualifications that can contribute UCAS points for UK performing arts applications.
Classes are available at our Douglas, Donnybrook and Blarney studios, each offering a professional, purpose-built environment for young performers. Senior Dance provides a pathway for motivated teenagers to develop strong technique, performance skills, and a lifelong love of dance, all while having fun, making friends, and performing on professional stages.

Senior Dance — your questions
What age group is Senior Dance for?
Senior Dance is designed for dancers aged 13–18 (secondary school age). Students typically progress from Intermediate Dance, and dancers with equivalent prior training from other schools are welcome to join.
What should my teenager wear to class?
Senior Dance has a Studio Wolfe uniform, sold in studio at our regular uniform shop dates. For new students, comfortable dancewear is perfect for the first few classes.
How long is each Senior Dance class, and what's covered?
Each class runs for one hour, once a week during term. Classes are fast-paced and high-energy, covering advanced choreography, complex combinations, technique, flexibility and stage performance. Senior dancers often add complementary disciplines like Intermediate & Senior Ballet, Musical Theatre or Hip Hop, and the strongest may be invited onto our competitive Dance Teams.
Where are Senior Dance classes held?
Senior Dance runs at our Studio Wolfe Douglas and Blarney locations. Check times and availability using the booking timetable on this page. If we're not open for new students, you can join our waitlist.
Can a teenager join Senior Dance with no prior experience?
Senior Dance moves at a fast pace, so previous training is helpful. That said, we often offer beginner-friendly options for teens — if your teen is new to dance, get in touch and we'll recommend the best starting point.
How do I enrol in Senior Dance?
When enrolment is open, book through the timetable on this page or the Book Now button in the menu. If classes are full or enrolment is closed, use our enquiry form to join the waiting list.
