Wolfe Pups is the perfect first step into the world of drama for children in Junior and Senior Infants. Designed specifically for 5 and 6 year olds, this class introduces young performers to storytelling, imaginative play and creative expression in a warm, nurturing environment.

Every session is guided by trained professional instructors who use story time, art, teacher-led role play and immersive play experiences to spark each child's imagination. There is no pressure to perform — just the freedom to explore, create and have fun.

What Your Child Will Experience

  • Teacher-led storytelling and imaginative play
  • Creative role play and character exploration
  • Art-based activities that support self-expression
  • Confidence building in a safe, supportive setting

Each class is carefully structured to match the developmental stage of younger children, with activities that encourage creativity, cooperation and communication skills. At least two adult professionals oversee every session.

A Gentle Introduction to Drama

The Wolfe Pups programme is built around the belief that learning through play is the most effective way for young children to develop confidence and self-expression. Our approach balances process and product, so children enjoy every moment without feeling pressure.

Wolfe Pups — your questions

What age group is Wolfe Pups for?

Wolfe Pups is our introductory drama programme for children aged 5–6, typically in Junior and Senior Infants. No prior drama experience is required.

What should my child wear to their first Wolfe Pups class?

Comfortable clothing is perfect — we don't sit around reciting poetry in drama at Studio Wolfe. There's plenty of movement, games and group play in every class, and on some days it can feel like a real workout, so dress your child in something they can run, jump and roll around in.

How long is each Wolfe Pups class, and what happens in it?

Each class runs for 45 minutes, once a week during term. Every class blends imaginative play, storytelling, simple role play and group games to help young children build confidence, creativity and early performance skills.

Where are Wolfe Pups classes held?

Wolfe Pups runs at all three Studio Wolfe locations in Cork — Douglas, Donnybrook and Blarney. You can check times and availability for each location using the booking timetable on this page. If we're not currently open for new students, you can join our waitlist and we'll let you know as soon as a place opens up.

Is Wolfe Pups suitable for a shy or first-time performer?

Absolutely — the programme is specifically designed for children having their very first experience of drama. Our teachers are experienced at gently helping young children come out of their shell through play, stories and group activities, and the studio is a safe, welcoming space for every child to be themselves.

How do I enrol my child in Wolfe Pups?

When enrolment is open, you can book a place directly through the booking timetable on this page or via the Book Now button in the menu. If classes are full or enrolment is closed, use our enquiry form to join the waiting list and we'll be in touch as soon as possible.

What's a Wolfe Pups class actually like?

Drama at Studio Wolfe is active and playful — we don't sit down and recite poetry, and we don't spend a whole term learning lines. Children learn through games, movement, storytelling and self-expression. When there are lines to learn for an upcoming show, we rehearse them together in class, and our teachers are always on hand to support every child both in the studio and during performances. As children progress, they can move on to Junior Drama at age 7.
