Intermediate Drama — Studio Wolfe Cork

Intermediate drama class for ages 10 to 12 at Studio Wolfe Cork

Intermediate Drama in Cork

Intermediate Drama at Studio Wolfe is where students begin to develop real theatrical skills. Designed for children in 4th–6th class (9–12 years old), this programme builds on the foundations of Junior Drama with more advanced storytelling, character development and stagecraft.

Students explore improvisation, role play, story construction and introductory script work. Classes are carefully structured to challenge and engage each student while maintaining the supportive, encouraging atmosphere that Studio Wolfe is known for.

What Students Learn

  • Improvisation and spontaneous role play
  • Story construction and stagecraft
  • Introductory scripts and comedy
  • Character development and theatrical status
  • Solo exams, duologues and ensemble work
  • Physical theatre and pantomime

At this level, students begin to experience a wider range of theatrical forms. From duologues to ensemble performances, each student is given the opportunity to explore different styles and discover where their strengths lie.

Performance Opportunities

Intermediate Drama students have the chance to take part in Studio Wolfe showcases and productions throughout the year. These professionally managed performances give students the experience of working towards a shared goal and performing in front of an audience.

The Next Step in Drama

Intermediate Drama bridges the gap between junior and senior levels, preparing students for the more in-depth theatrical study that awaits them in Senior Drama. Classes are available at Douglas, Donnybrook and Blarney.
