Senior advanced drama class for 4th to 6th year secondary students at Studio Wolfe Cork

Senior Advanced Drama Classes in Cork

Senior Advanced Drama at Studio Wolfe is designed for senior cycle secondary school students (4th–6th year) who want to develop their acting skills, creativity and confidence in a supportive and inspiring environment.

These classes are perfect for students who enjoy drama and want to push their performance skills further, whether that means performing on stage, preparing for auditions, or simply continuing their passion for theatre with friends.

Every class combines performance work, improvisation, script exploration and ensemble theatre, helping students develop both strong acting technique and creative confidence.

What Happens in Senior Advanced Drama?

Classes are energetic, collaborative and focused on helping students grow as performers while still keeping drama fun, social and engaging.

Students explore:

  • Improvisation and TheatreSports games
  • Script work and character development
  • Creating original scenes and devised theatre
  • Audition techniques and performance preparation
  • Classic and contemporary theatre styles
  • Irish theatre and storytelling traditions

Students regularly work together to create their own performances, building strong ensemble skills and learning how professional theatre is developed from the ground up.

TheatreSports & "Freaky Friday" Events

Improvisation is a major part of our senior drama programme. Students take part in TheatreSports-style improvisation, developing quick thinking, creativity and confidence on stage.

Throughout the year we also host our popular "Freaky Friday" TheatreSports evenings, where senior students come together for an exciting night of improvisation games, performances and social fun with their fellow actors.

These events are a favourite with our drama students and help create a strong community and lasting friendships within the studio.

Senior Advanced Drama — your questions

What age group is Senior Advanced Drama for?

Senior Advanced Drama is designed for 4th to 6th year secondary students (typically 16–18). It's for students serious about drama — including those considering performing arts college or drama-school auditions — and is the natural step up from Intermediate Drama.

What should my teen wear to class?

Comfortable clothing that allows for full physical expression is perfect. There's no compulsory uniform for drama — Studio Wolfe t-shirts and hoodies are available at our uniform shop dates.

How long is each Senior Advanced Drama class, and what's covered?

Each class runs for 1.5 hours, once a week during term. Classes cover in-depth theatrical study, script and scene work, monologue preparation and theatrical literature. Our speciality is improvisation — we encourage students to develop short storylines that speak to them and their peers, so they can relate to the material and really immerse themselves in the work.

Where are Senior Advanced Drama classes held?

Senior Advanced Drama runs exclusively at our Studio Wolfe Douglas studios, in our dedicated drama performance studio. Check times and availability using the booking timetable on this page. If we're not currently open for new students, you can join our waitlist.
